Many Thanks ...

Jonathon Blauvelt and Christopher Allison have been helping Living Wages since September as they prepare for two years of service in Papua New Guinea as Capuchin-Franciscan Cap-Corps volunteers.

Jonathan is from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  He will teach English and Religion in a pre-seminary program.  He told us: “I am motivated to teach in Papua New Guinea because I feel I have something important to share. However, I know I'll gain far more from the experience than I will be able to give. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. It will be a wonderful adventure."

Christopher Allison is from Atlanta, Georgia.  He studied Exercise Science and Physiology at Georgia State University.  For 4 years he has been racing semi-professionally in the U.S. and Europe as a road racing cyclist. He will be assigned to work in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea in January, where he will serve in the areas of building construction and maintenance.  He will also work with the local high school youth in sports.

Their time with us has been all too brief, but we will not forget their enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to help with whatever needed to be done.  We are sure that such qualities will be in great demand in Papua New Guinea.

Email us and send us photos, Jonathan and Chris, and thanks from all of us at Living Wages.
