Felisha Evans, a 2007 GED graduate who will be continuing her education at the University of the District of Columbia, officiated as the mistress of ceremonies. Two External Diploma students, Cornell Robinson and Lorraine Washington, gave eloquent tributes to the class of 2007, taking a moment to commemorate the graduates’ struggles, challenges and ultimately their successes. The guest speaker was Reverend Monsignor Charles Pope, from Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church. Monsignor Pope encouraged the graduates to take their success and use it as a powerful tool to change the lives of those around them. We were also privileged to invite Councilman Marion Barry who spoke to the graduates.
